Volunteer in the Centre of Environmental Education “La Dehesa”

There were always volunteers in the Centre of Environmental Education “La Dehesa”, foreigners as well as Spanish ones. Since the beginning we had positive experiences introducing volunteers in the projects of our organization..

The volunteers participate in all projects which we realize in the Centre, especially in those related to environmental education and information. To support the volunteers best, employers and volunteers share their working place, so that the young persons can fulfil their task as satisfactory as possible.

The tasks depend for the most part on the season in which the voluntary program takes place. Just as well important is the own interest and motivation of the volunteers to each project.

The following general activities can be part of the voluntary program during the stay in our Centre.

The volunteers collaborate 30 hours per week in the organization and have two days of rest. The vacations depend on the duration of the stay. The young persons never are directly responsible of any of their tasks.

The activities and mayor tasks of the volunteers are the following ones:

· To receive and to attend visitors of the information office in the Centre “La Dehesa” · To help with the organization and realization of youth activities (youth-exchange programmes, camps, workshops, etc.) · To collaborate with the development of environmental education programmes for schools. · Collaboration in the organization and realization of campaigns of sensitization at regional level. · To help with the up-coming, daily tasks in the office of the Centre (correspondence, statistics of the visitors, design of campaigns, etc.). · To support the organization of the education programmes which we offer in the Centre. · To collaborate with the design of didactical material · To help with the daily tasks in the hostel (kitchen, cleaning) The “Fundación Global Nature” bears the costs of accommodation and maintenance of the volunteers, in the Centre, as well as in a house, rented for the Foundation, located in Torrejón el Rubio.

Donation

But you can also collaborate with us by means of an economic contribution to support our conservation projects of protected species, recovery and protection of habitats or maintenance of native cattle. Every contribution as small it may be is welcomed. It actually is a support which helps us to realize our projects.
